The other night my husband told me that I tend to shine light on things people don’t want to think about.
He’s right.
But what does the sun do? It burns.
It burns through hydrogen and helium. It burns all that comes within it’s field of gravity. Asteroids. Comets. Debris. All melt, bubble and burst under the heat of the sun. Then dissolve as if they never existed. Just fuel for the never ending hunger of our life giving sun. Even from thousands of miles away our own skin is at risk of burning.
Life giver.
Skin scorcher.
The sun will burn until it eventually turns on itself. Its combusting hunger transforming it into a black hole. The burning of itself was necessary for the metamorphosis into pure expansion.
So yes, i am the sun and I enjoy it. A ball of energy so bright that it blinds the eyes, chaps lips and brings stinging sweat into your eyes. I bring you pain to bring you pleasure. I am the burning crops that make fertilizing ash for the next years harvest. The heat that helps the pine cone wax melt and grow into a hardy tree.
We’ve spent so many years separated from the sacred flame that we’ve learned only to fear it and forgotten it’s beauty. But worry not, death, smoke and ash have not forgotten us. They have only transformed the ways in which they seek us out. They have found new oracles to spread new messages so that you may choke and sputter on the old to grow anew from your chest torn asunder.

What do you need to burn?
Why do you resist the flame?
What new life will it bring?
Update: the first thing he said after reading this was “The Sun giveth and the Sun taketh away.” This man gets me.
